They — Israel — have done lots of research into two areas that interest us here at Bumrack: Cannabis biology and the upsides and downsides of COVID vaccines. And notwithstanding vaccine mediocrity, they vaccinated their population quite rapidly. Their citizens have national healthcare. WE in the US have allowed Pharma to suppress Cannabis research, and have surrendered our critical thinking about COVID issues to Pharma, rather than funding independent research. And, of course, no universal healthcare despite overwhelming popular support.
Yet apparently, Israel needs US tax dollars and un-graciously accepts them to promote their domestic and military agendas. Domestically, they deny the fruits of that biomedical research and that universal healthcare to Palestinians, who live a degraded existence under Israeli domination.
Is Israel the fifty-first state? If so, we may as well admit it, rather than proffering a policy of lies that blithely sends our dollars to a Fascist Israeli government that carries out genocide (with the consent of its citizens, of course).
STOP STOP STOP. Stop sending US tax dollars to fund Israeli research (and genocide). I strenuously object to my taxes funding biomedical research in any other country, particularly one as wealthy and authoritarian as Israel.
