So, you could see this one coming: up until last week the response to the Ukraine situation was, “Well, not much we can do militarily, but we’ll hit them with a hell of a lot of sanctions.” Now suddenly it’s “We’ll deploy troops to the Russian borders, we’ll send weapons and advisors to Ukraine and we’ll get the US ready for war.” So what changed? Among other things, the perception by Biden and the Democrats that they’re failing domestically, and war is a tried and true method of distracting from troubles at home by creating troubles abroad.
If Americans weren’t the stupidest people on the planet, here’s how they would respond to this sickening display of political opportunism: let the bastards that want this war go fight it. That means the bankers, the defense CEOs, our media warhawks, our Congressional warmongers and especially our demented commander-in-chief. Send them all to the Ukrainian front lines and let them be the ones to fight and die. No more young American service members are going to die for the greed and arrogance of these motherfuckers.
If Americans ever stood up and said that, I guarantee the Ukraine crisis would be over tomorrow. But because Americans are so stupid, chances are that thousands of service members, and many thousands of innocent civilians, will die instead. Hurray for America.
