View from a Columbia U. Alum

I have four degrees from the institution, starting with the undergrad Columbia College, and I was there as a junior in 1968 when anti-Vietnam War/anti-Harlem slumlord protestors shut down the campus and the Spring semester, canceling final exams, demanding that the university divest from its investments in arms manufacturers. Protestors occupied four buildings, including the office of then very anglo-ultrawhite male university president Grayson Kirk. Fifty-six years later, an Egyptian Arab woman president, pressured by the university’s numerous scumbag Zionist donors, murders the spirit of ’68, refusing to divest in arms manufacturers fueling Israeli genocide in Gaza, again summoning NYPD PIGS onto campus; and to ad insult to injury has the temerity to threaten an invitation to the national guard. As an alum, I OBJECT strenuously. Congratulations Columbia trustees on your expectations that identity politics in appointing a new president would ensure the values implicit in a university’s existence. Free discourse, Free speech.

Find some other donors or funding sources. Or economize. In either case, free yourself from Zionist donor influence. To those pezzi di spazzatura (pieces of rubbish), I most certainly object.
